Welcome to the Boyne Navigation – I.W.A.I website

Our group’s objective is the restoration of the Boyne Navigation (Canal), which goes between Drogheda and Navan.

An article relating to a display board, was installed at Lock 1 on the 24th August 2024 – Sealock, to mark Heritage Week 2024. Some photos of this can be found here (If asked to login, just click the X on the top right of it).

Current Workday Notice – 16th November 2024 – Lock 1

We plan to hold a workday on Saturday 16th November 2024 from 10:00 at Lock 1.

Our planned work: Work to be determined on the day. We might clear a number of fallen trees on the Oldbridge section.

The lockgates at Lock 2, were closed over. The stonework was edged, powerwashed along with the Lockgates been cleaned as well.

Volunteers always welcome.

We provide free magazines, produced by our parent group and give them to all takers, drop by if such might take your fancy.

With any luck we’ll get to work Saturday week as well.

Hope to see you along on Saturday,
