Where Canals and Peatlands meet in West Kildare
The proposed National Peatlands Park encompasses an area in West Kildare and East Offaly that includes the Grand Canal Main Line from Digby Bridge west of Sallins to Ticknevin, and the Grand Canal Barrow Line from Robertstown to Monasterevin.
Within the borders of the Park are these boating, cycling and walking tourist destinations Ballynafagh Lake and Bog, Barrow Blueway, Butterfly Conserve at Lullybeg, Donadea Forest, Grand Canal Main Line, Hill of Allen, Killinthomas Woods, Lullymore Heritage and Discovery, and Umeras Peatlands.
