Our Dublin Branch (IWAI Dublin) are pleased to announce the revival of the Green & Silver Cruise 2025/26.
This triangular cruising route which comprises of the Grand Canal, the Royal Canal and the middle Shannon, is a spectacular journey through the midlands upon our wonderful inland waterways. It is a bucket list event for many inland boaters.
This Green & Silver cruise began in early 2025 but unfortunately had to be abandoned after almost completing the Royal Canal leg. While at Confey in Kildare, the G&S group were made aware of the failure of the Newcommen Rail Bridge at Spencer Dock in Dublin, to lift. Repairs to the bridge are ongoing and are scheduled to be repaired in time for the group’s arrival in early 2026.
Come and meet the boats and their crews as they stop at towns and villages on route to Dublin along the Grand Canal. Starting in Shannon Harbour, Co. Offaly on September 27th, the flotilla will move mainly at weekends and make its way eastward to Dublin stopping in most towns along the way.
Do come out to meet the boats and maybe walk with them along the Greenway in your area.
