Dear Member,
Without your membership IWAI Kildare could not exist, so many thanks again for your support!
Every December IWAI Kildare organise a Christmas Walk for its members on the towpaths or waterway trails in the area.
This year is no exception, we plan to visit an important harbour restoration project in Vicarstown, Co. Laois on the Kildare
border.
We will meet at the Vicarstown Bridge Café at 11 am, to learn about the heritage of the Barrow Line of the Grand Canal, the importance of the
moorings and harbours on this navigation and the restoration works taking place in Vicarstown.
Please note that Wellington Boots are recommended for use during this visit. Afterwards we invite you to share a sandwich and a coffee with other attendees at the Vicarstown Bridge Café from 1pm to 2pm.
So come along and join us for a fun gathering of members on Saturday, December 27th at 11am, for this informative walking tour along the Barrow Line at Vicarstown Quay.
A Happy Christmas to one and all in the meantime!
Ronan O’Reilly
IWAI Kildare Secretary
