The Draft Naas Local Area Plan (LAP) 2021 to 2027 received over 900 submissions.
It is gratifying to see the interest and comments concerning
- the Naas and Corbally Greenways along both canals
- the opening of the Corbally Canal beyond the R445 to Corbally Harbour
- the Canal Quarter in Naas and
- the proposed new road over Lock 2 near Mill Lane
Reading the submissions, those who mentioned the canals appreciate their natural and industrial heritage, their potential for recreation for those living in Kildare, and the possibility of creating a major tourism destination for visitors.
