Waterways Ireland – Water Safety Campaign 2025

As part of National Water Safety Awareness Week 2025, Waterways Ireland is proud to launch its 2025 Water Safety Campaign, aimed at encouraging safer behaviour on and around Ireland’s inland waterways.
Tragically, several fatalities have already occurred on Irish waterways this year – a stark reminder of the hazards associated with our inland waters. This campaign delivers key safety messages, focusing on specific risks identified through previous incidents.
A series of targeted safety messages are now available on Waterways Ireland’s official Facebook and Instagram channels. We encourage all waterway to view, share, and promote these messages widely:
