The idea of a Powerboat Branch of the IWAI came about in 2010 when members from various branches, who met regularly using their cruiser tenders (and day boats) nationwide came to the realisation that there was a need for day-boaters and powerboat users on the inland waterways of Ireland to have a voice and to be associated with the IWAI.

An idea came to realisation when over 20 people attended the Inaugural branch meeting in January 2011. Since then, the branch has held many events/get-togethers nationwide. For full information regarding events, please visit our Calender or Facebook page.

The objects and ethos of the Powerboat Branch is to promote the safe & responsible use of the Inland Waterways to the many people who use Powerboats, RIB’s, PWC’s and Sports Boats from Trailers and Marinas all over the island of Ireland and indeed further afield.

The Powerboat Branch always welcomes new members and encourages powerboat users in Ireland to join the branch. Membership can be obtained online at the IWAI Membership Page
