MARINE NOTICE No 42 of 2020
The Erne System
Precautionary Warning re Navigation Markers
Waterways Ireland has organised for the phased return of our operational workforce and the Erne System re-opens today (29th May) as scheduled. It is important that Masters proceed with caution as we are now aware of the following hazards:
- Under water obstruction in the vicinity of 33E (Kipeen Island);
- Missing marker head at 61C6 (Lustybeg Island);
- Missing marker head at 60B (Cleenishmeen)
Waterways users and Masters should also exercise caution when using the jetty gangways at Bun bridge. The jetty at Kilmore Quay is dislodged. There are missing decking boards at Muckross Slipway walkway.
These issues will be attended to as soon as possible. There may be other navigational hazards so Masters and other waterways users should exercise caution at all times.
Should you need our assistance please do contact us by email at info@waterwaysireland.org or by phone https://www.waterwaysireland.org/contact-us.
