Carrick-on-Shannon Branch of IWAI have equipment that has been built up over the years to enhance Cruise in Companies, Rallies, and other activities carried out by the branch. This equipment is available to all current paid up branch members for short term borrowing. This includes a number of Kayaks, including two “Ocean Storm” Kayaks purchased new this year. The equipment is stored in the Branch trailer which is located in the Carrick-on-Shannon Boat Club.
There is a stict process in place that must be followed if you wish to borrow any of the equipment:
- Any paid up member of the branch can request use of items owned by the branch for use at boating related activites, rallies and events. The request must be made in writing (email) to the branch secretary carrick@iwai.ie who will advise the Chairperson and Property Officer accordingly. The Property Officer will then make arrangements for access to the trailer and the Boat Club. Under no circumstances should members attempt to visit the Boat Club directly to borrow equipment – all applications must be made as noted above
- The Property Officer will record the item loaned in the “Equipment Sign Out” form and keep a record of all items on loan and any issues which arise on return. The Branch Member borrowing the equipment is responsible for the any damage to equipment borrowed.
The following are items held by the Branch and available to members:
- Kayaks
- 2 Gas BBQs
- 2 Marquees
