Our second cruise in company of the year took place on the June Bank Holiday weekend.  The commodores for the weekend were Fiona Hoey and Maeve Kelly and thankfully the weather was much better than the May CIC

On the Friday evening the fleet gathered at Coosan Point and the crews got together in the Lough Ree Inn. There had been much whispering and guessing as to what the girls had in store for us but they caught us all off guard when they announced they would be having a headphone disco!!! We were all handed a pair of headphones each. There were two DJ’s – Our very own Ian Craig and Peter (Leo) Lee on the decks! Each DJ played different music at different speeds. On the headphone there were two switches and you could switch over and back to whichever station you wanted to listen to. As you can imagine we looked very funny all dancing to a different beat!

On the Saturday the fleet travelled to Portrunny. Fiona an Maeve felt it was such a shame that we had to miss our Sports Day on the May CIC that they decided to run it in Portrunny instead. It was a sports day with a difference with lots of fun and alternative games played. The laughs could probably be heard for miles as we all made fools of ourselves!!! That evening the branch tents were erected and the crews gathered on the Quay Wall for a sing song which went on until the early hours.

On Sunday the fleet travelled back down the lake to The Lakeside Marina where the girls held a monster Chinese Takeaway and we enjoyed music by Bugsy and Patrice Coyle. A fantastic weekend was had by all, definitely one to remember.
