A work-in was held on April 8th to re-instate two IWAI mooring buoys.  One at Blackbrink Bay and the second at Ballykeeran Lough. It was a blueskies day and the laying of the buoys went like a dream thanks to the master skippering of Niall McHugh.

The mooring buoys are now in place for the use of all IWAI members, you can’t miss them as they are a solid bright orange buoys marked IWAI with reflective tape for identification at night, for those more adventurous boaters. There are secured with a ton of concrete (compliments of Quigleys Marina) in Ballykeeran and a ton of wagon wheels in Blackbrink Bay. Thanks to Lakeside Marina for provision of the wheels and work barge.

Work In

Thanks also go to Leo Lee on Kayber for providing Mothership and a wonderful lunch for the 8 strong work party.  Two cruisers and the 80 ton workboat sat on the Blackbrink Bay mooring for an hour in a moderate breeze, the mooring held fast, a fair test of it holding.
